i appreciate your honest opinion, Eucalipto. i think that's my best shot, trying diverse concepts. but overall, i think i just shouldn't stress it anymore.
i don't think that my work is so horrible that i should be 50 millions views behind someone else, but at same time i'm really confused as to why i can only get 300 views on a piece.

oh well. fukit haha :)

sometimes my work makes it up on the popular section, but I never get the chance to see it cause for what ever reason I just miss it.

I think the easiest way to tell if it is popular is if you get like 1000 page views in a day. Usually if that happens I go over to popular and I will see it on the front page.

yeah, that's why i don't think i've really made it into the popular section. because my image views stay pretty low. no biggie though. just means i have to work a bit harder :)

Draw big juicy tits if you want views. The popularity has nothing to do with your skill. Popularity is attained upon delivering what the masses want to see.

Your work is light years ahead of mine yet my deviations get viewers much easier.

You're probably looking to divulge your work as much as you can so you might want to alternate the things you like to draw with the things people would like to see.

I think it also helps when you post more often. posting on a regular basis make my page views go up

no the popular view is just based on the amount of favs a piece has

To get your art on the "popular" (homepage) page you must have a considerable amount of views on an artwork you submitted.
When you upload something you choose the gallery it belongs to.
In that gallery there might be other artworks with thousands of views in 8 or 24 hours (3 days, week, month, etc)
That means its popularity will get him to the top of that gallery and (supposedly) on the front page.

After you submit something you can go to the homepage, change the "period" to 8 hours and click on the "next" button until you find your work.
You might have to wait some minutes for it to appear though...

I guess it's something like this.

When dA changed this "system" you could submit a photo or a drawing to a gallery that had no submissions (with a different/wrong category) and you could pop up right on the top of the frontpage =P

But I think that doesn't happen anymore.

thanks man! yeah, i have an old account and i used to get on there, but my work just doesn't make it there any more. oh well. at least i don't have to purchase an account! :)
i guess i was just a bit confused cause i see work with 50 views on there, while i'm at an average of 200 in the first 24hrs.

I realized that too, after I replied...
There must be some kind of equation the site does :S

I don't think so. Top result on a "popular of all time" search for Sailor Moon has an artist with no subscription. [link]
